This patch is intended for users with MS Outlook 98 / 2000 and Service Pack 1 or 2, which includes a security fix (called a security feature or enhancement by Microsoft) blocking all incoming attachments with the extensions like .exe and .lnk. The problem: you cant undo the security fix, and you wont be able to open, save or forward for example an .exe attachment after installing the service pack! Therefore, the author wrote the Oulook Insecurity Patch. This patch will give you control about which file extensions will be blocked, or not.
The patch will update the outllib.dll in your office folder and disable the security on specific extensions by your choice. The original outllib.dll will be copied to the subdirectory Outlook Security Patch in your system folder, so you can always undo the Insecurity patch.
You can rerun the patch and change the security as many times as you like. Great for those who want to receive .exe attachments once in a while.
Note: Close Outlook before patching and use at your own risk!
